YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Radio Liberty has quoted Nagorno-Karabakh President Arkady Ghoukassian as saying–"Karabakh will continue its independent policy even after Robert Kocharian’s election as President of Armenia. I am sure that Karabakh and Armenia will have clear relations and Armenia will advocate Karabakh’s standpoint at international instances."
The same source quoted Karabakh’s defense minister–Samvel Babayan–as saying–"Peace in Karabakh will be retained and I state with all responsibility that there will be no war if we are guided by today’s situation–while peace will depend on internal processes in Armenia."
