YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A congress of the Union of Journalists of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was held Friday with more than members of the press from Karabakh in attendance.
The Department of Information and Press of Karabakh reported that the assembly was constituent because as it became clear that the former Union was not even registered with the Karabakh Justice Department.
The assembly approved the Union’s new charter–elected a new chairman–Nikolay Baghdasdarian– set up a board of seven people and a control and inspection commission including three journalists.
The new chairman gave assurances that he would do everything possible for the Union of Journalists to finally win its due place in Karabakh.
