LOS ANGELES–Nagorno-Karabakh Primate Bishop Barkev Mardirossian visited the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America headquarters Wednesday–announced the Prelacy.
Bishop Mardirossian was welcomed by Western Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian.
Accompanying the visiting Primate were Armenian Ambassador to the United States Rouben Shugarian–deputy foreign minister Armen Baibourtian–Consul General in Los Angeles Edward Taranian and Mihran Kupeyan.
Also attending the reception were Cilician Catholicosate’s Central Executive member Arsen Danielian and Western Prelacy Executive Council member Dr. Jacob Ourfali and Vahik Satoorian–and ARF Central Committee of Western US representative Hovig Saliba.
The Western Prelate greeted the guests wishing all present safety and success in their national and religious service.
During the meeting issues of concern to the Armenian nation–including Armenia–Nagorno-Karabakh and the Diaspora were discussed.
The Western Prelate also emphasized the region’s absolute support for the independence and strengthening of the homeland–including the liberation struggle in Karabakh.
The Prelate also called on every Armenian to fulfill his and her national duty in this regard.
Following the meeting at the Prelacy headquarters–the entourage visited the Rose and Alex Pilibos and Ferrahian schools where they were greeted by the schools’ administration and staff members.
During student assemblies–the guests addressed the students and conveyed to them the various elemen’s of the Armenian reality in Karabakh.
Also present during the assemblies was Karabakh Culture and Youth Minister Armen Sarkissian.
All speakers challenged the students and the audience to show solidarity in the national liberation struggle of Karabakh and its revival.
