YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–In his speech at the official celebration of the anniversary of the Karabakh national liberation struggle–Karabakh President Arkady Ghoukassian said–"We’ve won with our own blood–sweat and strenuous efforts the right to our freedom and independence–the right to determine our own future and the right to a better life."
He stressed that "the Armenia’s of Karabakh who through war had to win their right to self-determination and sovereignty are prepared to defend their achievemen’s at all cost" and that they would never again tolerate any foreign elemen’s in Karabakh. "We must bow our heads in honor of all those who gained victory at the cost of their blood and remember all the martyrs of our heroic struggle who did not spare their lives to liberate their country."
Describing the Karabakh movement as the rebirth of self-consciousness of the Armenian people–and referring to the path traveled by the Armenian people as one full of highs and lows–President Ghoukassian assured his audience that the Armenia’s of Artsakh would continue to overcome all difficulties and hardships.
