GLENDALE–The Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR) is pleased to announce that candidate Katcho Achadjian has won the Republican primary for California’s 33rd Assembly seat and will continue as the frontrunner for the November General Election.
For the past 12 years, Achadjian has served as San Luis Obispo County Supervisor on the Central Coast of California. As a local businessman, Achadjian’s reputation has made him very popular in the region. He has fought hard to protect taxpayers, property rights, and public safety while holding down the cost of government. Achadjian is also has been honored for his community service, dedication, and involvement in a variety of organizations, associations and causes.
The primary election places Achadjian one step closer to Sacramento. If elected, Achadjian will become the only Armenian American member of the State Assembly.
“Armenian Americans, like Katcho, contribute to improving the quality of life in the communities in which they live,” noted ANCA-WR Government Relations Director Lerna Shirinian. “Katcho’s win is a result of his years of involvement in the community and a vote of confidence by the people of the 33rd Assembly District that he will continue to serve them Sacramento.”
