YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– "A decision has been taken to suspend the reception of those who are willing to participate in the clinical tests of ‘Armenicum’" – a cure for AIDS developed in Armenia–said Lev Zohrabian head of the Republican Center for AIDS Control & Prevention. Zohrabian initiated this move–saying that it is necessary to sum the results of already implemented tests and give hem a serious scientific substantiation.
The director of the AIDS Center noted that the reception process of patients will resume in thefuture. Zohrabian did not confirm information that the "Armenicum" closely held joint stock company has started the construction of a special clinic.
Currently–Armenian law contains a paragraph dealing with the deadly AIDS virus–whereby all HIV-infected foreigners and persons without citizenship should be deported from Armenia.
