The Parents Support Committee of Chamlian and Tufenkian Armenian Schools hosted its annual dinner-dance on Saturday–February 20 at the Brandview Collection in Glendale.
The unexpected announcement by Mr. and Mrs. Tony and Armig Marganian of their $20,000 donation to upgrade Chamlian’s elementary computer laboratory was the big surprise of the evening. This donation was made to express the Marganian’s support for Rafi Manoukian’s Glendale City Council bid.
On Thursday–Tony Marganian visited Chamlian School and presented his generous check to the administration. Principal Vazken Madenlian gave Marganian a to of the campus and discussed various projects proposed for the betterment of the school.
The evening proved to be a resounding success. The proceeds of this fundraising event will be used to improve and beautify Chamlian Armenian School–particularly the playground and adjacent areas in need of reparations.
