By node I mean one of our human structures, be it state based in the two existing Armenian Republics or organizationally based in the Diaspora.
These structures attend to our various needs: athletic, community, economic, educational, philanthropic, political, scientific, social, technical, youth, and any others you can think of.
But there are gaps. I became aware of one such need from a friend’s idea of a new structure he’d been pondering producing.
This new node would address the needs of engineers/entrepreneurs/inventors with the brain power to produce new products, but lacking in the money power.
Assembling the creative side for mutual support is one aspect of such a new structure. Another is creating a forum where potential financial backers can learn about the new ideas, inventions, and products, get inspired (or see bags of money), then invest in their production and distribution.
The financial backers might be in the form on “angel investors” who put up their own money to get an invention to market, or from venture capital firms who use other people’s money. Either way, it helps strengthen individuals in our community financially, and creates cohesion among those with similar interests and competences.
Some might argue that these structures are already out there, why spread ourselves even thinner by allocating precious resources/energy to create something that already exists elsewhere (in the broader, non-Armenian community)? This seems valid at first blush. But I also learned that even in the realm of inventions and money, biases come into play. Someone from a minority group will get not always get the same consideration as another, otherwise equally gifted mind in the settings under discussion.
During the conversation with my friend, I wondered if this might be the “incubator” concept I’d encountered in discussions of Silicon Valley or other places of intense technological development. It turns out that’s a different approach, involving much more physical infrastructure.

Garen, you make excellent points. There are many venture funds which target industries in a specific country. Most of these are government sponsored entities. In the case of Armenia/Armenians, I believe a better approach would be to create a fund through private capital which would have two goals: 1) help Armenian companies and Armenia and 2) make money! We have the people in our community who could do this if there was a concerted effort. We just need to make that a reality.
Armenia needs to become a part of the Eurasian Union which was established by prime minister Putin. Armenia needs Russia for secure economic trading partners. The landlocked nature of Armenia does not permit it to freely trade it’s goods and Georgia controls Armenia’s economy through it’s trade routes.
Armenia and the NKR need to start extracting oil from the Mardakert.
If I was a millionare. I would be building a R&D company in Armenia. We as a country need these kind of investments to go ahead. We have the brain base, we just need the companies and structures to accomodate our brains. Research Hospitals catering the leading edge Health solutions to paying tourists. Physics laboratories developing advance computer technology, development of Nano technology labs. Development of anty gravity, clean nuclear fusion technmology. The list is endless. We need another golden age to work on all these. We need the efforts of all Armenians to create the next golden age of Armenia. The time has come to get started. History is waiting for our input dear compatriots.

HAVING CILILIA WOULD BE RULED BY THE DIASPORA CONTROLLED GOVERNMENT , SEPARATE YET LINKED TO THE RUSSIAN-ARMENIAN CONTROLLEDREPUBLIC OF ARMENIA WOULD BE IDEAL THE LAND OF CILICLA. GREECE IS READY TO SELL SOME OF IT’S ISLANDS AND IN DESPARATE TIMES LIKE THIS, IT WILL DO SO. THE ARMENIAN DIASPORA CAN BUY THIS ISLAND BY SELLING THE ARMENIAN QUARTER IN JERUSALEM TO THE GREEKS AND GETTING A LARGE ENOUGH GREEK ISLAND TO ESTABLISH CILICIA.
