YEREVAN—Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan does not see the need to deploy peacekeepers in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone. “The border is protected by Armenian soldiers and the Armenian Armed Forces are the guarantor of Nagorno Karabakh’s security,” the Minister told reporters as he visited the line of contact accompanied by journalists.
“Our peacekeepers are effectively carrying out their mission in different countries,” Minister Ohanyan added.
As for the intervention of the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri in case of possible aggression on the part of Azerbaijan, the Minister said all agreements are incorporated in bilateral agreements and the CSTO statute.
The Defense Minister stressed that the 102nd military base brilliantly performs its duties along with the Armenian Army and there is no need to create a second Russian base.
The Minister said although fewer losses have been registered in the Armed Forces this year, the result cannot be satisfactory until there are no losses at all.
Speaking about Armenian captive Hakob Injighulyan, Seyran Ohanyan said the issue is in the spotlight of the Ministry. According to him, the Armenian side is doing its best to return him home, although the opportunities are very restricted because of the absence of direct contacts with the Azerbaijani side.
The Minister reiterated that Hakob Injighulyan will not be prosecuted upon his return and reminded that no soldier has ever been jailed in Armenia after returning from captivity.
I think this is another follow-up pressure on Armenia from Russian Colonel Andrey Ruzinsky, because the news sound like a response to a sujestion from high levell expert, like, the commander of the Russian troops stationed in Gyumri when he said “the Russian military base could openly side with Armenia in case of a renewed Armenia-Azerbaijan war for Nagorno Karabakh”, 1) to support his above remark, or, 2) our president who wants to please Mr. Putin when he visits next week to Armenia and give putin the Artsakh on a plater, like a domino effect he is tangled in his own devious politic which came to a point that he can’t say No’…

Comment – The more Russian Troops in Armenia(Protecting Armenia) – The More Armenian Troops can be used against whatever agression conducted against Armenia and go over to an Offensive.

Strong relation eith russia is a good thing for Armenia, but we must be carefull and take our pride in our own hands, we as Armenians around the world should never allow to lose ArmeniA again in the russian hands or to become a part of a nother empire.
Armenia was once very patriotic in the past we were not afraid of anything our atitude and patriotism has changed a lot.
We armeniaNs need russians and russians need us a lot but we must show this.
In real live its the same the one that gives to much respect to others loses its self respect and the respect of others thats whAT Armenia needs self respect, dont get me wrong i like russia but we must not become russia
