YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– Armenia’s Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian met with Russia’s first Deputy-Prime Minister Vartim Kusdovi and Deputy Prime Minister Valendina Madvinegoia–Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov–Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Minsk Group co-chairman Boris Basdookhov and Russian representative-ambassador in the CIS–Yuri Yugalov–in Moscow.
The main topic of discusision between Oskanian–Kusdovi and Madvinegoia was bilateral cooperation in the economic–cultural–and educational spheres. Among the main points were methods of improving the level of education in both nations. The two sides displayed interest to restart bilateral governmental cooperation and joint meetings of high government. Promises were made to take initiatives in this direction in the near future.
During Oskanian’s meeting with Russian Foreign Minister–Igor Ivanov–the main points addressed were increased cooperation on all fronts–strengthening of borders and new developmen’s in local regional politics. Both sides praised the the level of cooperation and positive developmen’s in foreign policy between the two sides in recent times.
While discussing the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh–the sides stressed the importance of prepartions to to reinstate military force in the region–a task which will take the cooperation and serious commitment of all regions and parties involved.
On December 28–Oskanian travelled to Warsaw–Poland upon the invitation of Polish Foreign Minister Pronislav Keremegi in order to discuss peaceful means to resolve the Karabakh issue. Meetings will be held to discuss different options which can be considered in solving the Karabakh conflict.
