YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Political scientist and journalist Tigran Hayrapetian was run over on Baghramian Avenue in Yerevan at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday and was killed.
He incurred bodily injuries–fractured leg and brain damage–and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Criminal investigation has been launched in connection with the accident–the press office of the Ministry of the Interior and National Security told Noyan Tapan.
Hayrapetian worked as a political correspondent for Azg daily. He also was deputy director of the Armenian Center for Strategic and National Research–editor-in-chief of the Nor Ughi (New Path) newspaper. He contributed to several periodicals–including Molorak–Oragir and Aravot newspapers and was regular political commentator on Armenian television.
