YEREVAN (ArmRadio)–The President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Bako Sahakian, met Thursday with the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Dora Bakoyannis, for talks on the ongoing Karabakh peace process, reported Armenpress.
The meeting, which took place at Karabakh’s Permanent Mission in Yerevan, followed similar talks Wednesday with the European Union’s Special Envoy to the South Caucasus, Peter Semneby.
Bakoyannis, who is in Armenia for a two day working visit, is also scheduled to meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian and Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian.
Sahakian’s talks with Semneby included discussion on Karabakh’s intention to develop deeper ties of cooperation with the European Union, reported Karabakh’s Permanent Mission in Yerevan. The Karabakh President also underscored Karabakh’s commitment to democratic reforms.
Sahakian told Semneby that it would be impossible to achieve a comprehensive and lasting solution to ongoing conflict without the direct participation of the Karabakh side, which has been prevented by Azerbaijan from joining the talks as a full-fledged party.
