
STEPANAKERT—Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian, who was re-elected for a second term on Thursday, pledged socio-economic and defense advances in during his new term in office.
In a statement to the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Sahakian said while there have been many accomplishments, much work lies ahead for his administration.
“Everything possible will be done to develop and strengthen our state—raise the combat efficiency of the Defense Army, increase living standards of our people, expand and deepen the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity. I am confident that with joint efforts we will be able to accomplish our national goals and aspirations and register new victories,” said Sahakian in his statement.
The Karabakh leader said that fifth presidential elections marked a “new victory on the path of building a legal state and realizing our national aspirations. They are another manifestation of the nation’s advanced civic standing and wisdom. The people of Artsakh once again reconfirmed their adherence to international norms and standards, their irreversible determination to build a free, independent and fair state.”
Sahakian also thanked the citizens of Karabakh, as well as those who voted for him, pledging to continue to advance the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
“I also express my gratitude to international observers who came to our to monitor the elections and qualified it as corresponding to international standards, free, fair and transparent. Their opinions, evaluation and recommendations are of utmost importance for the development of our state and its democratic institutions,” explained Sahakian.
“Let us keep working for the sake of Artsakh, for the sake of our future,” concluded Sahakian.
