YEREVAN—President Serzh Sarkisian on Thursday warned Azerbaijan over the continuous “provocations” at the border, saying that they will receive the appropriate response. Meanwhile, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian told Personal Representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office that the recent cease-fire violations by Azerbaijan aimed to destabilize the peace process.
“I have said on many occasions that provocations at the line of contact are extremely dangerous. I have said also that they will get a severe response,” Sarkisian told a panorama.am reporter when asked about the recent incursions by Azeri troops.
Since Monday, Azeri forces have attacked Armenian positions in the Tavush region, as well as the Horadiz district of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic resulting in the death of three Armenian soldiers and one Karabakh soldier. All attacks were rebuffed, leaving five Azeri soldiers dead during one incident.
“Either these provocations have been commenced by the Azerbaijani leadership and in this case they carry personal responsibility for breaching the international commitments of Azerbaijan, or the armed forces of that country are out of control of the general command,” added Sarkisian.
“We have no reason to resort to using force, since we consider that negotiations are the only way for the resolution of the conflict, and the settlement should stem from the realization of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination. As the Minsk Group Co-Chairs have stated on many occasions, it’s necessary to prepare our respective societies for peace in order to be able to move forward toward a final resolution. The Azeri side continues to do the opposite, viewing the encouragement of xenophobia as a tool to divert the attention of its citizens from domestic issues,” added Sarkisian.
“It is especially painful that the provocative actions took place on the very day the Armenian and Azerbaijani intellectuals were holding a meeting in Moscow and the US Secretary of State was visiting the region,” remarked the president.
“We do not want the situation to become more aggravated, but we will not leave any action against our citizens, state borders or Nagorno Karabakh without response. The armed forces of the Republic of Armenia have been tasked to demonstrate restraint and vigilance, at the same time prevent and punish any provocation by the rival. I’m confident that the international community and the Azeri people are aware that the blood of the killed is on their conscience,” concluded Sarkisian.
In Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian met with the Personal Representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.
Sahakian characterized the latest gross violations of the cease-fire regime by Azerbaijan as provocations aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region and undermining the efforts of the mediator countries. He also stressed the imperative to take measures to neutralize such behavior, reported the Karabakh presidential press service.
Next stop: Kura river!
The problem with fascist Azerbaijani officials and state sponsored media is that they are not less rude as there likes in Ankara. All stupid announcements of Azerbaijani officials are itself a proof that Azerbaijan is willing to organize more provocations and so on ….
Azerbaijani officials think if the invite a corrupt EU or US officials or a former Nazi German parliamentarian like Eduard Lintner (on pay roll of baku and always in Azerbaijani news media) and offer him caviar and Azerbaijani virgin and a carpet and later (after having g good sex) he announces „Karabakh “ is part of Azerbaijan” his announcement would change the reality- this is the existence of NKR with its army, ready to free Baku form fascist and ground freedom to all ethnics suffering from Turk-Azerbaijani fascist yoke

Mr. illegitimate President,
You ought to talk to Ilham Aliyev, the criminal President of Azerbaijan — not use general expressions, such as Azeri side or Azeri troops. Both of you are atavism for Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples. When both of you resign Armenian and Azerbaijani people would be able to find the right Dialogue. Go away! Enough is enough.
YEGBAYR SARKISSIAN ALIYEVE MIMIAYN ZOR, ZOR, ZOR E HASKANUM U VERJ
Aliyev’s and his family’s corrupt regime only can stay in power by keeping it’s population busy with other issues
Close this chapter on Artsakh. Armenia recognize Artsakh as an independent republic. Enough of this tail chasing games. Long live free and independent Artsakh. This is our land and we won’t give it back to any one. Turkey out of our lands.
The Armenian ministry of defense should create cyberwarfare unit to create viruses that can be used to destroy Azeri government computers, especially the computers controlling the oil pumps delivering the oil to Europe. In the 1980’s the CIA was able to plant a virus into a Soviet computer which controlled the pump that was pushing the natural gas down the pipeline. The virus caused a malfunction in the pump which led to the explosion in the pipeline.[http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/27/science/27trojan.html?_r=2&ref=science&pagewanted=all.html}
There will be No End in this… It is Stupid to continue this way… It will be like this forever… Unless Once And For All… they are taken out of context for good.
A nice brush with power will make them capitulate-negotiations r for the birds-strike-kill big and then tell them to beg and come forward-we will send our guys into their homes too if they do not get the message-they live by their dirty sword-lets give em a few things to think about-lest they come to us -=ace now-
That’s good that he is warning Azerbaijan of sever consequences. However, without a severe counter action Sarkissian’s warning will be regarded as a mere “bark”, as Azeris have already called it. Azeris have a reason to call it a bark, because Sarkissian has warned and done nothing else in the past.
This is fighting talk. Now lets start punishing these barberians. For every on Armeian deying 10 Azery should be killed.
The Aliev regime is plundering Azerbaijan. Human rights and civil liberties are being trampled on. The latest BBC reports about the Eurovision 2012 showed the world the level of shocking poverty and widespread discontent with the regime. Today the regime is sensing the increasing level of discontent of the Azri people with the ruling family.Even the film the Dictator was not allowed to be shown in Azerbaijan. The regime is morally corrupt and extremely nervous. Like many ruling families in history when they sense that their regime is being threatened and questioned by their own people they deflect their “subjects” attention with a military adventure. Usually that adventure is costly to all sides involved and just prolongs the existence of the regime for the duration of the conflict.
It is imperative that the leadership in Armenia and Artsakh be ready to an unprovoked military aggression and deal a crushing blow to the enemy. Well trained special forces and vigilant and alert border guards are the our nation first responders. However, all of the nation with its full resources must be dedicated to the cause of Armenian Sovereignty and Liberty.
