April 24th "Special Order" organized by Armenian Caucus features powerful speeches calling for the President to take a stand against Turkey’s Genocide denial.
WASHINGTON–A bipartisan group of Senators and Representatives joined Armenia’s around the world in commemorating the 87th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide during "Special Order" remarks on the House floor and statemen’s on the Senate floor throughout the day of April 24th–reported the Armenian National Committee of America.
Congressional Armenian Caucus co-chairs Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and Joe Knollenberg (R-Mich.) organized the House commemoration providing Representatives with an opportunity to offer five-minute statemen’s in remembrance of the Genocide Senators made their remarks during Morning Business and at other times.
"We want to thank Congressmen Knollenberg and Pallone for their leadership this April in hosting this Special Order–for their work in collecting one hundred and sixty-two signatures on a letter to President Bush–and for their moving remarks at our annual Armenian Genocide observance on Capitol Hill," said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian.
"We appreciate–as well–all the efforts of Armenian American organizations and individuals throughout the US who work with and educate their elected officials about the Armenian Genocide and the danger that its denial represents for Armenia’s and for all people," added Hamparian.
