ANKARA (World Bulletin)–The Turkish National Security Council (MGK) convened on Thursday under the chairmanship of President Abdullah Gul.
A statement was released at the end of the routine meeting that said domestic and foreign developments regarding national security were discussed.
The statement said the meeting evaluated “remarks made by certain countries over the incidents of 1915 and Turkey’s initiatives on this issue and it was stressed that the history Turkey and Armenia shared can only be evaluated through an impartial and scientific approach based on undisputable evidence and documents that are free of prejudices.”
The meeting also discussed the results from a recent nuclear summit in Washington, during which US President Obama held talks with Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
