
TEHRAN (Alik)-During Friday’s Iranian parliamentary elections two Armenia’s representing the Armenian community of Iran were re-elected to their posts in the parliament.
Engineer Gevorg Vardan was elected to represent the communities of Tehran and North Iran. He garnered 11,311 out of nearly 14,000 voters (more than 80 percent) of the votes.
Robert Beglarian was elected to represent the communities of Isfahan and Southern Iran. He garnered 2,504 out of 2,588 voters (about 97 percent) of the votes.
According to Alik, our sister publication in Tehran, the Iranian-Armenian community overwhelmingly and enthusiastically participated in the elections to elect the eighth parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
