YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Mayor Albert Bazeyan handed in his resignation to President Kocharian on January 10. Head of Personnel of Yerevan City Hall–S. Sourenyants–announced that in addition to Bazeyan–Secretary A. Mgrdichian–Advisor to the Mayor–K. Melkoumian–the mayor’s assistant–and the chief of staff have also requested resignations. Reasons for the resignations remain unknown.
According to the presidential press office–no formal responses have been announced regarding the requested resignations.
