YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Great Britain’s prime minister Tony Blair sent a message to Azerbaijani president Haydar Aliyev in which he expressed hope that "both Azerbaijan and Armenia will become desired members of the European family."
Tony Blair was quoted by Azerbaijani Bilik Dunyasi agency as saying that his country is following closely with the reforms in human rights–democracy and freedom of speech areas undertaken by the government of Aliyev.
Tony Blair also wrote that "big affairs are awaiting Azerbaijan in the future." The British prime minister also expressed hope that through direct meetings between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia it would be possible to reach a peaceful regulation of the Karabakh conflict and Great Britain is ready to help strengthen the achieved peace.
