NEW DELHI–As reported earlier–a delegation of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation–comprised of Bureau representatives Beno Tondian and Mario Nalbandian–participated in the annual Socialist International General Assembly currently underway in New Delhi.
Taking part in the General Assembly are socialist party representatives from hundreds of locales of the world–representing their respective parties and governmen’s.
The ARF delegation–in numerous meetings and conversation with SI officials and other delegations–presented the current state of negotiations in the Karabakh conflict.
During a session on regional and international security–Nalbandian delivered a speech–in which he highlighted the current situation in Karabakh.
The ARF leader stressed the role of the international community in securing peace for all regions–specifically in the Caucasus and the Karabakh conflict.
Nalbandian urged the present delegates to encourage their governmen’s to take an active role in the Karabakh negotiations–in order to safeguard the fair principles of self-determination and democracy for the people of Karabakh.
The 1998 SI Assembly will be held in Oslo.
