YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A large exhibition "Armenia’s of Poland: Identity and Assimilation" opened at the National Museum of Krakow–Poland–on November 26. The exhibition sponsors were able to gather in one place the cultural values created by Polish Armenia’s in the last seven centuries.
The exhibits–amounting to three hundred items–have been kept at various museums in Poland as well as in private collections. Among the exhibits are man’scripts–documen’s–church and household plate–clothes–carpets and rugs. The display highlights works by outstanding Polish painters of Armenian origin–such as Theodore Aksentowich–Anton Stefanowich and Alexander Awgusinowich.
The exhibition will last until late January 2000.
